CNG-Analyser
Current version:
4.52
Description:
The program allows the user to conduct tests of neuro-otological functioning by means of video or electrode nystagmography. It was clinically developed and is thus optimally adapted to the needs of otorhinolaryngologists and neurologists. While intuitively easy to use, it offers the physician the complete range of vestibular diagnostic tools. All tests are freely configurable.
Features:
Integrated examinations:
Calibration:
In contrast to examinations with electrodes, which always require calibration, a calibration is recommended with video goggles only in cases when two individuals are to be compared with each other. A calibration can be done at any time before and after the test. If a calibration is done before or after the test, the calibration value is interpolated to every measurement. The calibration stimulus is delivered by the Video Target System where available.
Caloric testing:
The stimulus (water or air) is registered prior to each test. The results of the nystagmus analysis are shown in the standard diagrams (Claussen or Haid, culmination diagram). The culmination phase is automatically detected and its values shown in a table. To make things easier for the user, the diagrams can be switched from the classic "Right/Left" representation to a "homolateral/contralateral" view. If a spontaneous nystagmus is present, it can be subtracted from the results. After every measurement, a pause timer can be activated to keep the duration of the test to a minimum while ensuring proper results.
Optokinetic testing:
By means of the Video Target System, any projected image can moved at a constant angle velocity. Three steps (stages) in the range of 1°/s to 99°/s can be set. The program computes the gain of each nystagmus and the average gain for each step.
Pursuit tests:
By means of the Video Target Systems, any image can be moved periodically. There is a choice of sinusoidal, sawtooth and triangular movements. The amplitude, the frequency and the direction can be set. The program computes the phase shift and the gain.
Gaze tests:
By means of the Video Target System, any image can be moved from the centre of the screen to the edge in steps. A diagram shows the plateaus, permitting the user to diagnose a directional gaze nystagmus.
Saccadic testing:
By means of the Video Target System, the gaze target can be positioned pseudo-randomly. The resulting eye movements are shown in a slow-motion diagram
Rotational tests:
By means of the PDS-12 rotary chair, the following tests can be conducted: the rotational intensity damping test (RIDT), the trapezoidal test, the pendular test, the damped pendular test, the cervical test. All tests allow the user to configure important settings such as acceleration, maximal velocity, duration of phases, etc. Depending on the examination, results such as the culmination, the gain, the time constant and the maximal value of the reaction are computed and then shown in the standard diagrams and tables.
Further tests:
For individual examinations, the user can create as many freely configurable tests as needed. There, too, the most important values are computed and shown in tables.
Distribution:
The product is distributed worldwide by GN Otometrics.
